Melbourne has started to open up but Bottoms Up remains closed under the current restrictions on dance schools. This extension of the lockdown and the uncertainty it has created has taken a huge toll on our business and our instructors, some who are unable to receive any government support.

We have had some enquiries as to how you can help our business going forward. We would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to email the contacts below and let them know how the extension of the closure of gyms and dance schools has affected you, the check-in procedures employed by the studio (we have all your details on file and meticulous records) and our cleaning protocols. We may not be able to do anything about this extended closure but we are hopeful that more nuanced policy can be applied next time.

How You Can Help Our Teachers

Some of our instructors have lost all of their income as a result of this circuit breaker lockdown and now the extended closure of studios and venues. The resulting density limits in venues and regional and interstate travel restrictions mean that even after the restrictions lift gigs have been canceled.

The accessibility of both the state and federal relief payments is an absolute joke. Artists must earn more than $75k per year for one and are disqualified for having more than $10000 in savings for the other.
