WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF POLE, BURLESQUE FLOOR DANCING?

Like all types of dancing, pole, burlesque & floor movement will all elevate your heart rate a little, sending those wonderful endorphins through your body giving you the happiest & most super fun workout you'll ever find! Pole dancing will strengthen & tone your bodies.  Dancing in all forms also improves your balance, your stability and your posture, along with confidence, body awareness and empowerment.  You'll also be surprised at your new-found stage craft & acting skills!

At Bottoms Up, the biggest benefit of all is the sense of individual empowerment, kicking goals within yourself, & an awesome inclusive & diverse community.,

WHO WILL BE THERE?

It is natural to feel nervous in your first class, but guess what?!  Everybody feels the same!  Every student feels nervous & excited prior to your first class, however you will be welcomed with open arms and leave feeling amazing and with a whole new group of friends,

All Bottoms Up classes are for EVERY body.  All ages, all sizes, all genders, all walks of lives, ALL BODIES.  Our bodies do amazing things and all bodies are brilliant bodies.

* We do ask that students are over 18 (unless written parental or guardian note is provided)

DO I NEED TO BE FIT OR ATHLETIC TO TRY POLE DANCING?

Most definitely not!  If only we had one dollar for every time we have heard this over the years!  The most difficult thing with pole dancing is getting there!  You could be super-fit or a couch potato and everyone is in the same boat on day one.  You are learning a completely new skill, and all your new muscle groups will be warmed up and will strengthen in accordance to content learned.  Everybody starts at the beginning, including those with dance backgrounds.  Pole dancing is a whole new kettle of fish, albeit a super fun one!

ARE THERE ANY RISKS INVOLVED?

As with any form of activity there is some risk involved. But the greatest risk of all is you having too much fun! You will probably find some bruises after class, and perhaps the occasional pole burn. These fade quickly and become less frequent as your strength and skill develop.  Please ensure you always let your teacher know if any prior or existing injuries in any class you attend.

HOW ARE THE CLASSES STRUCTURED?

All Bottoms Up! classes begin with a warm-up specific to your class, designed to strengthen, loosen and prepare your bodies. After warming up class content begins. All classes end with a warm-down designed to increase flexibility and stretch out your bodies.  As our 8-week courses are progressive in content & choreography, & strengthening.  We ask all to please ensure you are able to attend at least 80% of your 8-week course classes prior to enrolling.  Make-up classes are not always available

WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS?

We understand life happens, however in order to be eligible for a make-up class 24hrs notice must be given via email.  Make-up classes are not guaranteed, and cannot always be made up in the same class.   Too many classes missed within an 8-week course will cause you to fall back on the content.  As above please ensure you are able to commit to your course prior to enrolling.  Please do not ask for a makeup class if 24hrs notice is not given via email.

CAN I TRY A CLASS BEFORE I COMMIT TO AN 8-WEEK COURSE?

Absolutely!  We have a range of casual classes suited to all levels including brand new Beginners.  Casual classes require no weekly commitment and will give you a feel of the style.  Casual classes passes are available if these suit you.  Casual  class passes are valid for casual classes only.

CAN I USE MY CASUAL CLASS PASS FOR A COURSE CLASS?

Unfortunately no.  Casual classes and course classes are priced different.  Casual class passes are valid only for classes marked as casual.  Casual class passes have expiry dates so be sure to choose the right one for you!  See more info here

CAN I do a trial class if coming from another pole studio?

Yes, and always a good idea.  Studios teach differently and levels are different so it is always a good idea to do a one off trial in a class to ascertain your level.  This pends availability in class.
