Salem (Jacqui)
ABOUT Salem
It’s no secret that Salem loves the spotlight, her intoxicating presence demands your attention the moment she steps on stage, exuding big queer energy and a whole lot of filthy fun.
With 21+ years of classical dance training and experience, the stage is where Salem thrives. Bottoms Up Dance is where her passion for pole started in 2017, awakening an obsession for pole dance, floorwork, burlesque and aerial hoop. Salem is thirsty for new knowledge and learning challenging tricks, from fierce floorwork to aerial arts.
Originally from Sydney, Salem began her dance journey at age six training in ballet, tap, jazz and everything in between. After a long break, her love for the stage was reignited after stumbling on the drag and cabaret scene a year after moving to Melbourne. From pointe shoes to pleaser heels, Salem now performs for crowds amongst Melbourne’s iconic queer club scene, taking the stage for events including QUEERDO’s, Tomboy, Gangmeow Party, Tassel Thursday, Haus of Fun and Athena’s Hand. She began competing in aerial hoop and pole competitions in 2018 winning 1st place and 2nd runner up titles in her division.
Salem is passionate about erotic expression, musicality and creating inclusive environments that her students feel comfortable to learn, play and challenge themselves in.
